Otto du Plessis is the co-founder of Bronze Age Foundry in Cape Town, who are responsible for an extraordinary amount of custom-made metalwork at Xigera Safari Lodge. Bronze Age Foundry's work has developed a current regard for bronze as a modern material, making use of this material in furniture design as well as sculptural art.
Du Plessis has mentored and trained countless young artists in his time; his technical knowledge and eye for detail have proved to be a formidable combination. Nature is a key inspiration for du Plessis, as seen in his sculptures, primarily focusing on birds, animal skeletons and other wildlife - creating a perfect fit for Xigera Safari Lodge.
