June signifies the halfway point of 2024, and it's abundantly clear that this year is delivering extraordinary wildlife sightings at Xigera. Throughout this month, we've been privileged to witness remarkable moments right here in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Captured by Ike Captured by Carike A super herd of over 600 buffalos, alongside many giraffes, zebras, elephants, lechwes, and impalas, graced our landscapes. Captured by Carike Captured by Carike Two Fish eagles fiercely fought over their next meal. Captured by Carike This usually playful leopard was captured lounging on a tree after a satisfying meal. Captured by Des Captured by Carike Captured by Carike Following what our guides assumed to be a hunt, one of our guides managed to capture an astonishing image of a new Wild Dog den filled with incredibly adorable puppies—a thrilling discovery for both our guides and guests. These puppies were the first to be born in the Xigera concession since our opening. Captured by Carike Captured by Des This year, our Lions have been incredibly prolific and active. Lots of cubs playfully leapt over the water channels, taught all the tricks of living in this incredible wilderness by their mothers. Captured by Des These young cubs were eagerly waiting for their mother's return, hoping for a share of the spoils from her recent hunt. Captured by Carike As June comes to a close, these moments of wonder remind us of our dedication to cherishing and safeguarding the diverse treasures of the Okavango Delta. With July on the way, one of Botswana's coldest months, we eagerly anticipate more adventures and discoveries.
