January wildlife sightings at Xigera

The beginning of the year at Xigera has unfolded with an abundance of beautiful sightings, leaving our exceptional guides and guests in awe. The wildlife encounters are enchanting, with each passing day surpassing the one before, providing a preview of the extraordinary sightings that await us in 2024.

This unfolding scenario narrates the tale of the Xigera Western pride in pursuit of warthogs. A leopard, positioned out of shot in a tree overhead, keenly observes as the inexperienced young lions attempt to unearth a warthog with piglets from its burrow. Despite 30 minutes of persistent digging, the lions leap for cover as the warthog emerges, ultimately leaving them empty-handed.
