One of the most elusive and majestic creatures found on our safaris is the leopard, and this month, our guests were treated to some truly beautiful sightings of this striking big cat.
One of our game drives was lucky enough to witness a mother and cub in action, as they expertly balanced themselves on an overhanging tree. It was a truly breathtaking moment that left our guests in awe. These cats are known for their stealthy movements and impressive hunting skills, making any sighting of them a rare and special experience.

Guests staying with us at Xigera this April did not only catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard, but were also lucky enough to witness the exceptional agility of another big cat: the cheetah. These speedy felines never fail to captivate our guests, leaving them in awe of their power and grace.

In a rare and exciting moment, guests staying in Suite 4 had the privilege of witnessing a cheetah exploring the flood plains just outside their suite. It was an unforgettable moment that left them feeling humbled and privileged to have been so close to nature's fastest predator.

Lion sightings have been very prolific this April, and their presence has inspired equal wonder as they were spotted doing what cats do best…sleeping and dozing. These majestic cats paid no attention to their onlookers, however, allowing our guests the chance to get an up-close view of their powerful bodies, golden manes, and piercing eyes.

The Western and Eastern prides at Xigera also continue to grow from strength to strength, with continual patrols of their territories. Across our game drives, it is clear that the cubs of both prides are well fed and growing.
On a recent game drive, our guests were also able to see large herds of elephants - the largest land animal. These animals are slowly starting to return in their numbers to this part of the Delta, attracted by the water (and thus, food) that is starting to return. Their acute knowledge and instinct of the water's return means that we are continued to be blessed by their presence.
As we continue to explore and cherish the natural wonders of the Okavango Delta, we remain in awe of the incredible wildlife that inhabits this unique and beautiful region. Every sighting is a reminder of the natural wonders that we are so privileged to exist amongst, and endeavour to support.
The diversity of wildlife in the Moremi Game Reserve and the awe-inspiring landscape of the Okavango Delta never fails to astound us.
Join us at Xigera and share in the exhilarating variety of experiences, sightings, and truly memorable occasions that await.
