We are thrilled to partner with Patrick Mavros to create an exclusive candelabra and jewellery collection for the lodge. This collection brings the enduring friendship between two great African families - Tollman and Mavros - to life, drawing on their passion for the family business, delivering the finest experiences and products, and their deep love for Africa’s wildlife and wilderness.

'We have created a collection of  Water Lily Candleholders and Tealight Candleholders to adorn the tables of Xigera as if they are floating on the waters of the Okavango Delta that surrounds Xigera. The Blue Water Lily (Nymphaea nouchali burm) is indigenous to the Okavango water systems and is the subject and inspiration of our floating silver tablescape,' says Patrick Mavros.

The short candles are cradled in the lily flowers while the taller candles are suspended by the lily stems above the lily pads, indicative of their long root systems. This variation in height and the ease of moving the pieces around the table gives the dinner guests at Xigera a unique perspective as they dine among the lilies. As a delightful detail, guests are able to find tiny indigenous Painted Reed Frog (Hyperolius sp) secreted among the lily pad collection.

The Waterlily Candelabra: The candelabra has been designed to enchant guests as they sit down to supper and recount the adventures of the day. It includes tall and short waterlily candleholders and tealight candleholders to adorn the tables of Xigera as if they are floating on the waters of the Okavango Delta.

Tall and short Xigera Candleholders: The lily flowers are smooth and highly polished, designed to reflect the flickering of candlelight, emulating the shimmering waters of the Okavango Delta. The flowers sit atop the perfectly detailed lily pads and together create a microcosm for the miniature animals of the Okavango. Marbled reed frogs and freshwater snails, carved in detail, make the Lilly pads their home.

Xigera Tealights: Depicting the flower of the Blue Water Lilly in full bloom, the tealights are intricate in detail, even showing the flower stamen around the tealight holder.

The Waterlily Jewellery Collection: Patrick Mavros has also designed a jewellery collection exclusive to Xigera Safari Lodge, with earrings, pendants, bracelets and cufflinks. The designs are based on the waterlily flowers and are made in sterling silver and 18-carat gold. We are delighted that guests will be able to take a little piece of Xigera home, as both the jewellery collection and candelabra are available to purchase in the Xigera Shop.
